Great pics! Looks like a perfect camping spot. Was I detecting good hiking, too? Where were you guys? Is it a spot you'd go back to? I'm always on the lookout for outdoor suggestions.

I'd go back. It was the Mogollon Rim Campground north of Payson off 260. There wasn't much hiking, there was a trail to the rim that took about 15 minutes, or you could walk 3 miles round trip to the lake, but it wasn't much of a hike. Camping was $14 a night. Sites were a good size and flat, but a little too close to each other. Every site had a picnic table and a fire ring. Weather was great, 85-ish during the day with thunderstorms every afternoon then clearing up and around 50's at night. Pet friendly, we brought Princess Lucy Pants without a problem. I think roughly half the other sites had dogs.
